Bwindi Gorilla Trek – 3 days Uganda Gorilla Safari in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
This 3 days Uganda safari takes you to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, an ancient tropical rain forest in South West Uganda. The trip gives you the opportunity to track the endangered mountain gorillas.
Trip Itinerary
Day 1: Kampala -Bwindi Gorilla Forest
Very early in the morning at 6:00 am after breakfast you will drive south west taking the Masaka Mbarara road to head to Bwindi Gorilla sanctuary situated in the Western Part of Uganda. The drive will take you through beautiful towns and rural countryside coupled with homesteads, grasslands, and banana plantations, reaching the park in the late afternoon. You will have a stop over at the Equator for photogenic opportunities and in Mbarara for lunch. Reaching the park uin the evening, check in your lodge and then if you are not tired you may go for a nature walk to the neighboring community. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla resort / Buhoma homestead / Buhoma community.
Day 2: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Forest
In the morning you will have heavy breakfast and with packed lunch you will transfer to the park headquarters for briefing and then later on at 9:00 am you will set off along the tracks in the thick forest to go search for these great apes. Depending on the movement of these humble giants the walk might take between 2-9 hours before you encounter the Gorillas. The walk is tiresome however meeting these great apes and spending some time with them while looking deep into their expressive brown eyes, is an exhilarating and heartbreaking wildlife encounter that Africa has to offer.
Dinner and overnight at Gorilla resort / Buhoma homestead / Buhoma community.
Day 3: Return Travel to Kampala
In the morning you will have breakfast and then pack your luggage to start on the Journey back to Kampala. The drive will take you to stop in Mbarara for lunch and then proceed to reach Kampala in the Evening.
