Gorilla Kingdom Tour -8 days Gorilla Safari to Bwindi Gorilla Forest (Uganda) & Volcanoes Gorilla Park (Rwanda)
This Gorilla Safari takes you to the gorilla safari parks in Uganda and Rwanda for mountain gorilla tracking. These include Mgahinga Gorilla National park and Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in Uganda as well as Volcanoes National Park In Rwanda. The safari will als take you for a wildlife tour in Queen Elizabeth National park of Uganda.
GORILLA TOUR ITINERARY
DAY 1 – Kampala - Queen Elizabeth NP
You will be met at your hotel in Kampala at 08:00 hrs. Drive west with a stop at the equator for photos, through volcanic formations of the Western Rift Valley towards Queen Elizabeth National Park. The descent reveals a stunning panorama of Lakes George and Edward amidst game filled plains. Late afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga channel and into Lake Edward. The trip passes through possibly the highest hippo concentration in Africa - other animals may also be seen drinking at the water's edge. The boat ride offers superb photography and game viewing. The bird life is colorful and abundant. Return for dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge or Jacana Safari Lodge.
DAY 2 – Wildlife in Queen Elizabeth National park
Queen Elizabeth National Park's diverse eco-system of grassy plains, tropical forests, rivers, swamps, lakes and volcanic craters is home to an incredible abundance of wildlife. An early morning walk in the spectacular Kyambura Gorge provides excellent opportunities to see chimpanzees, L'hoestes, red-colobus, black and white colobus and more. After a picnic lunch, you will transfer to Bwindi impenetrable Forest. Dinner and overnight stay at Gorilla Forest/ Buhoma community bandas.
DAY 3 –Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Gorilla Forest
Early morning entry into the gorilla sanctuary. The rainforest is spectacular. It offers a dramatic, steeply forested landscape and is incredibly dense, but criss-crossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists. Mammals recorded include the endangered mountain gorilla, rare golden monkey, buffalo, elephant, black-fronted duiker, bushbuck, leopard, giant forest hog and others. This park is best known for the fascinating gorillas. The time taken in the terrain varies according to the movements of the marvelous primates. The thrill of spending time and observing the gorillas is a rare, moving, awesome and exciting adventure. The Gorilla is a shy and peaceful animal and it is an unforgettable experience to watch and photograph them as they interact. Dinner and overnight stay at Gorilla Forest/ Buhoma community bandas.
DAY 4 – The Drive to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
Drive through the 'Switzerland of Africa' area known as the Kigezi Highlands with its terraced hillside and winding roads to Kisoro or Bwindi. Dinner and overnight at Traveler’s Rest Camp.
DAY 5 – Gorilla Tracking in Mgahinga .
Tracking Gorillas in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park and in Parc De Volcans in Rwanda. Simply amazing chance to see the fascinating, endangered gorillas. Dinner and overnight stay in Traveler’s Rest Camp.
DAY 6 – Transfer to Kigali
After breakfast, leave for Rwanda. [Clocks go backward one hour]. Stroll around the Lodge, or simply take in the panoramic sunset over the volcanoes.

Day 7 - Gorilla Tracking in Rwanda
Early morning, enter the Gorilla sanctuary of Parc National des Volcans, the rain tropical forest covering the hills surrounding Virunga Volcanoes. Gorilla trekking in this park is a demanding but rewarding experience. Ensure you bring with you enough water and the packed lunch. After the seeing the gorillas, you will return back to the Camp. If you have the energy this afternoon, you will visit the golden monkeys or drive to Gisenyi, visit Ross Carr's orphanage and Lake Kivu or climb the Visoke/Muhavura volcanoes, or trek to Dian Fossey's grave, or visit the local school, community projects.

Day 8: After breakfast, we will depart to Kampala arriving in the late evening.
