This is a 5 days gorilla safari taking you for gorilla tracking in Volcanoes Gorilla Park in Rwanda. Volacnoes National Park is one of the few conservation areas in the Virunga Region protecting the endangered mountain gorillas. Gorilla Tracking in this tropical montane natural forest is one of the rare world class wildlife encounters that cannot be easily got elsewhere in the world. During the gorilla tracking tour you will spend a full hour watching these endangered creatures, quite a memorable and unforgettable life time experience.
RWANDA GORILLA TOUR ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival & Transfer to Volcanoes Gorilla Park
Our safari guide will pick you from the airport for a transfer to Kigali, the capital of Rwanda. Get briefed about your Rwanda safari and then after lunch leave for Parc Nationale des Volcanoes. The journey to the north goes through the beautiful terraced hillsides that show much of Rwanda’s landscape, gradually climbing to the base of the awesome Virunga volcanoes; sometimes five peaks can be seen. Overnight and dinner at Volcanoes Virunga Lodge (FB).
Day 2: Gorilla Tracking in Parc des Volcanos
Early morning, go gorilla tracking in Parc National des Volcans. Tracking the gorillas through the light mountain forest on the slopes of the Virungas is a wonderful experience. Incase you are lucky; you can get to see the gorillas, spend an hour with them, and get back at the lodge in time for a late lunch. Some gorilla families however are more mysterious, and tracking can take a full day, especially when it is wet and muddy. Overnight and dinner at Volcanoes Virunga Lodge (FB).
Day 3: Gorilla Tracking & Rwanda Commmunity Tour
Wake up and have breakfast, then you go gorilla tracking again in Parc National des Volcans, you might have a chance to see what you missed seeing the previous day, this magical experience takes you about an hour and then visit Ross Carr’s orphanage, visit the local school and community projects. Overnight and dinner at Volcanoes Virunga Lodge (FB).
Day 4: Kigali City Tour
Following breakfast, you will leave for Kigali. Go for a City tour including visits to the market, a pottery project, handicraft shops, the Franco-Rwandan cultural centre and the genocide memorial. Have lunch enroute and have the afternoon resting.
Day 5: Airport Transfer / Drive to Kampala
You will wake up at your own leisure and have breakfast then pack your bags ready to be transferred to the airport to catch your flight back home.
