This Uganda safari takes you for chimpanzee tracking and game viewing tours in 3 uganda’s safari parks: Murchison Falls, the largest Uganda Safari park, Kibale Chimpanzee forest, a tropical rain forest with the highest chimpanzee density in Africa and Queen Elizabeth National park, probabaly the highest biome conservation area in Africa.
6 DAYS UGANDA TOUR ITINERARY
Day 1: Drive to Murchison Falls National Park
In the morning after breakfast you will drive south west through Masindi to reach the park in the afternoon. On reaching the park you will hike to the top of the falls to see how the calm Nile forces itself through a narrow gorge through which it explodes into the falls. After you will transfer to your lodge. Dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge / Sambiya River lodge /Red chili Camp.
Day 2: Wildlife Tour in Murchison Falls
In the morning before dawn you will go for a game drive through the park searching for predators and other game. The drive will reward you with game like Hyenas, Leopards, elephants, hartebeests, Oribis, Uganda Kobs, giraffes to mention. In the afternoon you will go for a boat ride on the Victoria Nile that takes you to the bottom of the falls. The ride will reward you with game like Crocodiles, Hippos, elephants, buffaloes, and plenty of birds like the Kingfishers.
Day 3: Transfer to Kibale Tropical Rain Forest
Early in the morning you will have breakfast and then drive off to Kibale National park. The drive takes you about 8 hours to reach Fort portal in the afternoon. You will then transfer to your lodge to check in and then go for a walk in the Bigodi wetland sanctuary. The walk will reward you with primates like Bush babies and colobus monkeys and other species both fauna and flora. Dinner and overnight at Ndali Lodge / Mountains of the moon / Primates lodge.
Day 4; Chimpanzee tracking / Drive Queen Elizabeth National Park.
In the morning you will have breakfast and then transfer to Kibale NP Headquarters. You will be briefed about the whole process and tracking and then you will head along the tracks in the forest to search for chimpanzees. The walk through the park will be guided providing information about not only on chimpanzees but also on flora and fauna. You will then meet the chimpanzees and spend sometime watching them feed and making theirs calls. If you are lucky to find then hunting this is the best time, as you watch them share the meat amongst themselves. After tracking you will then drive Queen Elizabeth National Park to reach in the evening. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge / Mweya Institute of ecology.
Day 5: Game drive / Boat ride of Kazinga channel.
Wake up before sunrise to a cup of tea or a glass of water and then set off to the park tracks for a game drive to be able to see predators as they retune to their hide outs and the early risers. During the drive watch out for game like the Leopards, Lions, giant forest hogs, hyenas, Uganda kobs, warthogs and others. After the game drive you will drive back to the lodge for heavy breakfast and then later have lunch to transfer to the Park headquarters for the Boat ride. The launch that takes you along the Kazinga channel that connects Lakes George and Edward will reward you with game like Hippos, elephants and buffaloes at the shores not forgetting plenty of birds. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge / Mweya Hostel.
Day 6; Drive to Kampala.
On this day you may go track chimpanzees in the Kyambura sector of the park. This is however provided on request. If you happen to track you may see chimpanzees along with other primates like the black and white colobus monkey, bush babies to mention. After tracking you will drive back to Kampala to reach in the evening.
